Rules for authors are based on CSE’s White Paper on Promoting Integrity in Scientific Journal Publications, 2012 Update.
I. GENERAL
The "Dynamic Processes in Geospheres" publishes results of original observational, experimental and theoretical researches as well as reviews in Earth’s sciences as a system of interacting geospheres - from the core to outer shells, including exogenous effects on lithosphere, atmosphere, ionosphere at all spatial and temporal scales.
The online magazine publishes materials from graduate students, applicants, doctoral students, specialists, and experts in this field.
The evidence of the paper publication is the fact of its placement in one of issues of the online magazine "Dynamic Processes in Gesospheres" (in PDF format) at the official website of the magazine. Authors' rights are preserved in accordance with international regulations.
II. RECOMMENDATIONS TO AUTHOR(S) BEFORE SUBMITTING THE MS
The paper submission to the online magazine "Dynamic Processes in Geospheres" implies that:
– the paper has not been published previously and is not under consideration in any another journal;
– all co-authors agree with the publication of the current version of the paper.
Before to send the paper for publication, the author(s) must be sure that the file (files) contains all the necessary information in Russian and English, sources of information posted in the figures and tables are indicated, all quotes are correctly formatted.

Manuscripts are uploaded through the website (after the registration of authors at the online publication website).
The manuscript should include:
1. Name of author(s)
2. Affiliation of author(s)
Affiliation includes following data: the full official name of the organization, full postal address (including zip code, city and country). Authors should indicate all places of work related to the study.
If authors from different institutions took part in the paper preparation, it is necessary to indicate the affiliation for each author to his(her) specific institution using a superscript index.
3. Title of the paper
The paper title should be specific reflecting the work content.
4. Summary
The summary text should be concise and clear, free from secondary information, differ in the persuasiveness of the wording. The abstract should include following aspects: the relevance of the study, the purpose of the work, methods and materials, results of the study, the scope of applications, and conclusions. The abstract should not include first-introduced terms, abbreviations (with the exception of well-known ones), references to the literature.
The recommended annotation volume is about 300 to 350 words.

The author is obliged to notify the editor about real or potential conflicts of interest, including information about the conflict of interest in the relevant section of the paper. All parties involved in the review process disclose information about any conflicts and give the editor the right to decide how to proceed.
9. Technical design of the MS
A) The MS volume should not exceed 50,000 characters with spaces, including tables, captions and the list of references.
In theoretical works, it is advisable to allocate following sections: the problem formulation, the problem solution, results, discussion of results.
For experimental works we advise following sections: methods of experiments, description of experiments, their results, discussion of results (it is necessary to clearly separate the discussion of the results from the factual material).
If there are several authors, the index indicates the serial number of the institutions listed below, to which this author belongs, and there is also an asterisk (or asterisks) corresponding to the e-mail.
B) The text
The text should be typed in the Microsoft Word editor formatted for A4 paper size with 1.5 intervals, using the 12 pt Times New Roman font. Margins on all sides are 2.5 cm, text is aligned to width. Each paragraph indent is of 1.25 cm. Pages are numbered at the lower-right corner.
All materials should use physical units and symbols adopted in the International System of Units (SI) and the relative atomic masses элементов according to 12С scale. When using special software for calculations, it is necessary to indicate authors of the software. Naming different compounds, authors should use the iupac terminology. The transcription of geographical names should correspond to the atlas of the latest year of publication. Decimal character is a period. For numerical intervals where numbers have a sign, an ellipsis is placed instead of a dash (for example: “at temperatures 450–470 К”, however “+450…+470 K”, “–30…–10°C”).
Abbreviations (except for commonly used ones) are not allowed in the text of the paper; abbreviated names are explained at the first mention. When mentioning foreign surnames in parentheses in the text, it is necessary to give their original spelling (with the exception of well-known ones, as well as if these foreign names are referenced in the list of references).
C) Equations
Mathematical formulas must be typed using the Microsoft Word editor (depending on the version).
The style and arrangement of characters, letters, signs, indexes, strings in the MS not allow any ambiguous reading.
Chemical elements, trigonometric, and other functions are typed in direct script; all Latin letters are typed in italics, Greek letters are typed directly (this rule also applies to cases where these letters are used in indexes).
Vector quantities are typed in bold both in formulas and in the text (there should be no other symbols for vector quantities).
Letters of the Russian alphabet cannot be used in formulas.
Special signs should be explained at the margins.
If necessary, similar letters can be explained in the margins (e.g., the Latin letter l (el) and unit 1, the Latin v and the Greek letter ν (nude)).
In all materials, including drawings and inscriptions on photographs, uniform writing of all formulas and symbols should be observed. It is necessary to unify those mathematical signs and symbols in the use of which there are discrepancies and uncertainties (proportionality sign, approximate equal sign, etc.).
D) Drawings and photographs
Drawings should be presented in a good quality with captions.
Mandatory elements of the drawing caption are: the serial number of the figure and its name. If the picture is the only one in the paper and has a caption, then it is not numbered, the word Fig. it is not written in the caption, the link to it is a drawing. If the figure does not have a caption, it is numbered, even if it is the only one in the paper. The editors welcome full-color illustrations, as well as extended explanations to the figures within the framework of the captions.
Numbering of figures is carried out in Arabic numerals according to the order of sequence in the text.
References to figures are made as follows: "In Fig. 3 states that ..." or "It is stated that ... (fig. 3)".
All inscriptions in figures must be editable and made with 8 pt of the Arial font (main) in the language of the text of the paper. In some cases, the font size can be reduced to 5-6 pt. Letter numbering of figures is performed in 10 pt of the Arial font (italics) in the language of the paper text.
The thickness of grid lines in the figure is 0.15 mm, the main lines are from 0.2 mm, but not more than 0.4 mm.
The width of a picture in the portrait orientation of the page (A4) is not more than 180 mm, in landscape orientation - no more than 249 mm.
The volume of one picture electronic version should not exceed 5 MB. Drawings are made without frames.
Vector graphics are provided in .cdr formats, .ai editable formats (see above font requirements, line thickness, and other illustration parameters). When exporting from other programs, use the PostScript (.eps) format with a resolution of 300 dpi.
Photographs and scanned materials are presented in TIFF or JPEG formats (saving in JPEG format must be made in maximum or high quality). Raster graphics resolution must be at least 600 dpi for black and white drawings and at least 300 dpi for photos.
If the paper reproduces previously published (in a journal, monograph or other publication protected by copyright) drawings, authors should obtain permission to reproduce this drawing from the copyright holder and submit this permission to the editorial office together with the MS.
E) Tables
Tables should be editable and are presented in the text format, not be scanned or in the form of figures. If a tables is large they are listed on separate pages in text format.
All tables should have headers.
Tables are numbered in Arabic numerals in order of succession in the text.
References to tables are made as follows: "Table. 3 states that ..." or "It is stated that ... (Table 3)."
The table header includes the ordinal number of the table and its name.
No period is placed after the table header.
The continuation (end) of the table should have the title: "Table 1. Continued" or "Table 1. End". If the table is the only one in the MS and has a title, then it is not numbered. The word Table is not spelled. If the table does not have a header, then it is numbered, even if it is the only one in the MS. Repeating labels are replaced with the "–" character.
F) References
In the section "List of references", configured according to samples below, First Russian, then foreign publications without numbering are listed; both parts of the list are compiled in alphabetical order according to the name of the first authors. All references are given in the original language (names in Japanese, Chinese and other languages using a non-Latin script are written in Latin transcription).
References in the text are placed in square brackets mentioning the surname of the first author and the year, for example: [Kozyrev, 1975];
– the reference with two authors includes both authors, for example: [Kozyrev, Ivanov, 1975];
– the reference with three or more authors us cited using the first author and the year, for example: [Kozyrev et al., 1975].
In cases of a formal coincidence of two or more references, a letter is placed after the year (in the list of references also), for example: [Kozyrev, 1980a]. When referring to a collection of papers in the text, reference is made to the first word of the title of the collection and the year, for example: [Fluctuations ..., 1994]. References to unpublished papers are not acceptable. They can be formatted as a “private communcation” in the form of footnotes (footnotes).
In the list of references, the names of the authors are typed in Italics, all other data are typed directly.
References in the MS text should strictly correspond to the list of references. Otherwise, the editors reserve the right to make adjustments, up to the removal of the reference.

The Editorial Board reserves rights not to use the proposed candidates as reviewers.
The Editorial Board is able to reject papers prepared with violation of the rules (notifying the contact person about this).
IV. MATERIALS TO BE UPLOADED TO THE WEB SITE
At the initial stage:
- The manuscript in the PDF format not more than 20 MB in size (the full text of the paper includes - figures, tables, diagrams, drawing captions), designed in strict accordance with the Rules of the online edition (see above).
- Author’s data.
After receiving reviews for the MS:
- The improved version of the MS, taking into account the reviews,. The corrected manuscript should be submitted in the PDF format with the maximum size of 20 MB.
- Responses to reviewers.
- The MS file with outlined edits and comments of authors (for the editorial board).
In the case of positive reviews and acceptance of the paper for publication, authors submit to the editorial board:
- The final text version of the MS (without drawings) in Word format; figure captions are placed at the end of the manuscript.
- Figures as separate files (requirements for figure’s design of are given above).
- Completed and signed by all co-authors license agreement in the PDF format (file in .docx format can be downloaded here), the expert conclusion (for Russian authors) on the possibility of open publication.
V. INTERACTION BETWEEN THE JOURNAL AND THE AUTHOR
After the MS is uploaded to the editorial portfolio and receiving technical confirmation that the sent materials meet the formal technical requirements, the paper is considered to have been received by the editors.
The editorial board corresponds with the responsible (contact) author.
All incoming papers are pre-screened for compliances. At this stage:
– the paper can be returned to the author (authors) for revision with a request to eliminate errors or add missing data;
– the paper may be rejected due to its inconsistency with the goals of the network magazine, lack of originality, low scientific value.
After a preliminary check, the executive editor transfers the MS to the reviewer nominating the timing of the review. Papers submitted to the editorial board undergo the procedure of unilateral "blind" review. In controversial cases, the editor may involve several additional specialists in the review process, as well as the editor-in-chief.
With the positive conclusions of reviewers, the MS is transferred to the editor for the publication preparation.
In the case of paper’s revision, editor’s comments and comments of reviewers are transmitted to the author. The author has two months to answer comments. If during this period the author does not notify the editorial board about the planned actions, the paper is removed from the publication queue.
If the Editorial board refuse to publish the paper, the author is informed about the decision.
The final version of the accepted for publication MS is sent to the responsible (contact) author to check the layout. A response is expected from the authors within three working days. In the absence of any response from the author, the layout of the MS is considered as approved.
VI. PROCEDURE TO CHANGE THE EDITOR/REVIEWER DECISIONS
If the author does not agree with the conclusion of the reviewer and/or the editor or individual comments, he can challenge the decision. To do this, the author needs:
– correct the MS according to reasonable comments of reviewers and editors;
– clearly state author’s position on the issue under consideration.
Editors help to re-submit manuscripts that could potentially be accepted, but were rejected due to demand to make significant changes or collect additional data. Editors are ready to explain in detail what needs to be corrected in the manuscript to be accepted for publication.
VII. EDITORIAL ACTIONS IN CASES OF DETECTION OF PLAGIARISM, FABRICATION OR FALSIFICATION OF DATA
In the case of detection of unscrupulous behavior of the author, detection of plagiarism, fabrication or falsification of data, the editorial board is guided by the rules COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics)
By "unscrupulous behavior", the network edition "Dynamic Processes in Geospheres" understands any actions of a scientist, including improper handling of objects of study or intentional manipulation with the scientific information, in which it ceases to reflect observed research, as well as the behavior of a scientist that does not meet accepted ethical and scientific standards.
"Bad faith behavior" does not include honest errors or honest discrepancies in the plan, conduct, interpretation, or evaluation of research methods or results, or dishonest behavior unrelated to the scientific process.
VIII. BUG CORRECTION AND PAPER WITHDRAW
If errors are found in the text of a paper affecting its perception, but do not distort the stated results of a study, errors could be corrected by replacing the pdf-file of the paper and pointing to errors in the paper uploaded file.
In cases when errors in the text of the paper are detected, that distort results of a study, or in the case of plagiarism, detection of unfair behavior of the author (authors) associated with falsification and/or fabrication of data, the paper may be withdrawn. A revoked paper is marked with the sign "Paper withdrawn", information about the reason for the withdrawal of the paper is posted at the paper page.
